Chapter 3 - The Plans of Mice and Men

She passed the following day in a haze of chores, trying to ignore the panic in the back of her mind.

But it wasn't enough. She felt like she was constantly about to have a panic attack. She couldn't be sure of her suspicions, though. All she knew was that her breasts felt more tender and her nausea was getting worse.

"I can't keep sitting around like this," she reasoned. She slithered into her formal dress once more and took herself out to forget the previous night's events.

It wasn't quite as fun this time, initially. She decided that she needed to MAKE it fun if she was ever going to get her mind off of her suspicions.

That man could help, that was for sure.

The bouncer was more attractive than she thought a man could possibly be. And given that she didn't quite have the name to get into a lounge like this yes...well, she decided that she might as well play up her charms for her own benefit.

A coy comment of hers, one that made her realize that this man and her might have something in common, was really all it took for the bouncer to let her into the lounge.

After he saw fit even to escort her upstairs to the bar, Rhiannon knew that she was bound to have a little fun tonight if her suspicions proved to be wrong.

She'd scarcely arrived at the bar, however, before she felt incredibly bizarre.

That strange form of Sim magic crept over her, and before she knew it she was looking down at herself with a groan of dispair.

Knew it. KNEW IT.

"Food," she said weakly, sitting at the bar before she could pass out in shock. "Give me some food."

A cheese plate ended up in front of her, and Rhiannon considered it before she slowly began to eat.

She needed to plan her strategy now. Things were...DIFFERENT now that there was a baby inside of her. Did she want to get rid of it? An abortion? Did she want to carry it to term and give it up for adoption? Plumbob, she had no idea.

Then again...wouldn't this be the best blackmail material in the world?

Rhiannon focused hard on the last piece of cheese on her plate, eyes widening. Of course. She didn't need any photographic evidence. She had a baby growing right here in her stomach. Yes, it was perfect! How could Mr. Stanley NOT give her a promotion if she threatened to go public with the child's paternity?

It was settled. For now, at least, she would carry it to term. She'd figure something out after she yanked that promotion and raise out of Mr. Stanley.

She took herself down stairs in the lounge after that to enjoy the lovely music being played.

And the rather lovely view, that too.

One of the problems with being pregnant, Rhiannon realized, was that she was now about ten times more desperate for sex than she had been in the first place, and, really, a man couldn't go around playing the piano like that if he didn't expect a little attention.

Well. Perhaps before the baby bump got more noticeable, she could get a few more names and numbers.

She was bonding with EVERYONE tonight, wasn't she?

But then her ankles horrifically began to ache, and Rhiannon dragged herself home with a heavy sigh. No fun tonight. None at all.

Rhi went home and pulled on the only clothes that would fit her in terms of pajamas, eyeing herself with disdain. Could she look any more unattractive?

And then, of course, the horrible had to happen.

"THIS GODDAMN SINK WHAT THE HELL IS ITS PROBLEM ARGH."

She'd barely fixed it and wrung the water out of her hair before she heard a knock at the door. "Come in," she called. She was still far too lazy to get up and answer it herself.

Oh.

  1. xD Can I just say that I LOVE Rhiannon? She's seriously one of the most entertaining characters ever. And you're only three chapters in!

    Can't wait for more.

  2. I can't wait to see Rhi's baby. I bet it's gonna have the "aww" factor.

And I agree with Cece. Rhiannon is an awesome character. You definitely write her well.

  3. I'm glad ya'll like her. xD I'm still trying to get back into the swing of Legacy writing, so forgive me if the plot is basically indeterminable thus far, but I do so love Rhiannon. When I first came up with the idea of her a few years back I sort of thought of that quote by Jane Austen about her character Emma: "I am going to take a heroine whom no-one but myself will much like." She's just so...not your traditional heroine, Rhiannon. But I guess that's why I like her. 8D And I'm glad others can appreciate her for that too.

  4. Lol, fun update.

While your founder is great as a character, I'm not ashamed to say I would not like her as a person. Promiscuity doesn't bother me, but "using people" certainly does.

I'm very curious about Stanley's reaction. Will I feel sorry for the guy? Or will his reaction prove him to be the even worse parent? Time must tell!

  5. Yeaaaah...I wouldn't like her as a person either. I'd stay as far away from her as possible (and keep my boyfriend chained to me at all times in her presence). BUT HEY, that's what makes her interesting, I'd like to think.

Oh, Alan Stanley. xD The problem with having a buffer is that I already know what will happen and just want to go ahead and post it. BUT I CAN'T.

  6. Yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing Stanley's reaction to this, too.
